Frank and Renee Skipworth

Frank and Renee Skipworth

We are Frank and Renee Skipworth, and together, we own Skipworth Veterinary Clinic. We have been married since 1989, which was Frank’s second year of vet school at Auburn University. We have two children, Lauren, and Carter. Lauren was born in 1993 and is a graduate of the University of Kentucky. We are very thankful that she took an interest in the family business and joined our team at the clinic. Carter was born in 1997 and is currently practicing law in Richmond.

As a family, we love to worship at Southland Christian Church, vacation in Hilton Head, SC, and watch ball games together. We are huge Kentucky Wildcats fans!

We practiced for 15 years in a mixed practice and decided to open our own clinic in 2008. With Renee managing the business part, Dr. Frank could focus on meeting the needs of our clients and patients. In the Fall of 2017, we realized our dream and moved our practice to a building that we own.

We love what we do and could not do it without the support of all our loyal clients. We cannot thank them enough for trusting us with the healthcare needs of their beloved pets. We also could not do it without the dedication of our wonderful staff. They show up every day and work tirelessly to make sure each pet entrusted to our care is treated like a member of our family.

Hi! My name is Taylor Adams, and I’m originally from Irvine, Kentucky. I completed my undergraduate studies at Western Kentucky University and earned my veterinary degree from St. George’s University, finishing my clinical year at the University of Florida.

I now live in Richmond with my husband, Christian, our two dogs, Capri and Bentley, and our cat, Eli. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, hiking, reading, and spending time with friends and family.

I’m passionate about providing personalized, high-quality care and am honored to care for your pets as if they were my own.

Dr. Abby Hamilton
Dr. Abby Hamilton
Hi, I’m Dr. Hamilton, a proud Pikeville, Kentucky native and recent graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. Becoming a veterinarian had been a lifelong dream, and I’m incredibly grateful to now be living that dream by helping animals live healthier, happier lives at Skipworth Veterinary Clinic!

Before veterinary school, I earned my degree in Biomedical Sciences from Eastern Kentucky University, where I was also an active member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. My time there helped shape both my academic journey and my commitment to service and sisterhood.
I’m also a proud pet mom to a sweet chihuahua named Ellie Mae and two lovable cats, Moakie and Latte. They remind me every day why I chose this path.

Outside of veterinary medicine, I’m passionate about my faith, health, and fitness. I believe in living a life full of purpose, compassion, and continual growth—spiritually, professionally, and personally.

Chandra Black
Chandra Black
Hello! I’m Chandra. I’m a student at Eastern Kentucky University majoring in Animal Science with a concentration in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and a minor in Chemistry. While Richmond is my home away from home, I’m originally from the rolling hills of Morehead, KY.

I’ve been surrounded by animals my whole life—at one point, I had 40 rare-breed bantam chickens that rode around on my shoulder (each one with a name, of course!). These days, I focus on my “girls”—three beloved Maine Coon cats.

In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, swimming, spending time with friends, and heading home to be with family. Although I’m a newer addition to the Skipworth Vet Clinic team, I’m no stranger to working in a veterinary setting. I’m so grateful to continue my journey here and can’t wait to meet all your fur babies!
