Our Merchant Drive location is our full-service veterinary hospital and the heart of our advanced medical care.
When your pet is sick, injured, or needs more extensive diagnostics or treatment, our doctors have access to a wide range of resources right here in our hospital.

Not every veterinary visit needs to happen in a hospital setting.
Our Wellness Center was created to make routine veterinary care convenient, comfortable, and accessible for Richmond pet families. It gives us another place to focus on keeping pets healthy while providing the same friendly, personal care our clients have come to know.

If we discover that your pet needs more extensive diagnostics, treatment, or hospital care, we can easily coordinate their care with our Merchant Drive location.

Dr. Frank Skipworth began serving local pet families in 1992, and in 2008, Skipworth Veterinary Clinic was established in Richmond—a community we’re proud to call home.
Since then, we’ve grown from one veterinarian to a four-doctor practice—Dr. Frank Skipworth, Dr. Taylor Adams, Dr. Hamilton, and Dr. Anderson—and from one location to two.
While our practice has grown, the heart of who we are hasn’t changed. We’re proud of the family-oriented culture we’ve built, with a dedicated support team that includes several staff members who have been with us since the very beginning. They help keep us connected to our roots and to the families who have trusted us with generations of their pets.
Our doctors take a team-based, collaborative approach to medicine, regularly communicating, sharing perspectives, and working together on cases. That same spirit of teamwork extends throughout our entire staff, with one shared goal: providing exceptional care for your pet and a supportive experience for your family.
At the same time, we’re always looking forward—growing, evolving, and investing in new technology, education, and medical capabilities so we can continue providing the highest standard of care possible.
